Strongest secondary sources so far:
1 | “Adult Students in Higher Education Statistics.” Maryville Online, 16 Oct. 2019, online.maryville.edu/blog/going-back-to-school-statistics/.
This source provides a lot of insight on the specific statistics surrounding adult learners and the upward trend that occurring in the space. In addition, there is a tool integrated on the site that provides users with information on specific occupations and the stats behind each level such as median income, job opportunities, and job projection over a few years.

2 | Nadworny, Elissa. “In ‘Never Too Late,’ Finally, A Guide For Adults Going To College.” NPR, NPR, 23 Dec. 2018, www.npr.org/2018/12/23/678799694/in-never-too-late-finally-a-guide-for-adults-going-to-college.
In the article, the author of the book Never Too Late Rebecca Klein-Collins is interviewed by an NPR reporter on the key takeaways and pinnacle moments that occur in the book. She gives insight on questions many adult learners may have such as who exactly are the adults that are trying to get back into school and tips for helping adults overcoming the anxieties around going back to school after so many years. As I am continuing my research, I plan on diving into the book itself more because it’s the first of its kind that I have heard of due to the majority of books this type are oftentimes marketed and constructed to reach the audience of high schoolers.

3 | “7 Reasons Adult Learners Are Going Back to School [Updated 2020].” Post University, 11 Sept. 2020, post.edu/blog/7-reasons-to-go-back-to-school-why-more-adults-are-heading-back-to-college/.
Through my research, I am discovering that many universities have taken it upon themselves to try and convince adult learners to get back to school. In trying to be persuasive, many have these “lists” that layout potential outcomes of a continued education track. In stating these touchpoints Post University backs its statements with stats from federal sources.

• Academic Advisor from Cincinnati State
For my project I have decided to narrow my focus a bit more and focus on creating a campaign for Cincinnati State in outreaching to this untapped audience of adult learners in the tri state area. This could trickle upward to reaching even program coordinators, marketing, etc. I have yet to reach out to anyone just yet because I wanted to develop the project statement and such a bit more before I decided to start sharing progress.

•Parent/Relatives
Reaching out to people in my life who are currently going through the experience themselves. Right now I am very hands on with the experience for my mom so I definitely will pull from that experience as well. I will reach out to more people that I know are in the process although many of them may have graduated with their degrees, I think there’s still something they can provide to this process.
